Devalley Community Rules
Effective: November 16, 2026
These rules are how we share the boards, packs, looks and profiles on devalley.app. Respect each other, share what you made yourself, and use the report button when something is wrong.
1. About these rules
- These are the community rules that form part of the Terms of Service under Article 5 of the terms, posted on the Site at /legal/community.
- They are versioned and amended the same way as the terms. This version takes effect on November 16, 2026; amendments follow the procedure of Article 4 of the terms (posted 7 days before they take effect, 30 days ahead with a notification for changes unfavourable to members).
- Words here have the meanings the terms give them. "Staff" means the Operator and the people the Operator entrusts with looking after the community.
2. Prohibited conduct
The conduct Article 21 of the terms prohibits is prohibited everywhere in the community. In short, and with Article 21 governing the details:
- Breaking the law or using the Service for crime.
- Infringing others' copyright, trademark, likeness, reputation, privacy or personal data, including uploading characters or assets from other games or works as they are or lightly altered.
- Impersonating the Operator, another member or a third party, or suggesting an affiliation that does not exist.
- Obscenity, child sexual abuse material, gratuitous violence, hate or discrimination, encouragement of self-harm or suicide, harassment, threats or stalking.
- Advertising, spam, flooding, pyramid or investment solicitation and other commercial posting against the community's purpose (unless the Operator permits it).
- Uploading malware, or putting executable code or hidden data in pack files.
- Circumventing the Service's technical restrictions, such as payment, plan checks, Official Pack protection or posting limits.
- Collecting the Service's or other members' information with crawlers, scrapers or automation, or loading the Service.
- Selling or buying accounts, coins or packs outside the Service for money or anything else.
- Abusing the report feature with false or repeated reports, or creating new accounts to evade action.
- Collecting or publishing other members' personal information (email, real name, location and the like).
- Redistributing or selling Official Packs or other members' all-rights-reserved content.
3. The boards
- The Site has these seven boards.
| Board | Who posts | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Notices | Staff | New versions, changes to the terms, news about the Service |
| General | Members | Anything (prohibited conduct aside) |
| Showcase | Members | Your village and residents |
| Help | Members | Questions and answers everyone can read |
| Packs | Members | Feedback on packs and requests |
| Feedback | Members | What you want from Devalley |
| Support | Members | What others must not see, such as your account, payments and refunds. Only the author and staff can read it |
- Visitors who are not signed in can see the community home, each board's post list (title, author, time, comment count), the full notice posts and the docs. Other posts need sign-in. The column shows its newest 10 pieces to visitors.
- The Help board is for public questions that other members read too. Write about your account, payments and anything else others must not see on the Support board.
- Support board posts are seen only by their author and staff. A staff answer arrives as a site notification, and support posts are deleted with the account. A post in the "Refund" category gets the payment details (plan, subscription or transaction number, dates) attached automatically.
- The author of a post may edit its title and body at any time, and an edited post shows "Edited" with the time. A post hidden after a report or locked cannot be edited, nor can any post during a write ban. Comments cannot be edited: delete one and write it again.
- Only staff can comment on a locked post.
- Images in posts, comments and pack descriptions show only when they were uploaded to the Site (addresses starting with /u/); another site's image address becomes a link. Links (http, https, mailto and the Site's own addresses) open in a new tab with nofollow.
4. Posting limits
These limits keep spam and flooding out. They are counted per minute, hour or day, each window starting at its first request. If you reach one, try again a little later.
| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Posts | 10 an hour (3 an hour in an account's first 3 days) |
| Comments | No hourly limit; 10 a minute at most, against flooding |
| Images | 60 an hour, 5 MB each |
| Reports | 10 a day; the same member reporting the same target again does not make a new report |
| Pack versions (Pro) | 10 a day. A zip of up to 50 MB, 60 MB and 400 files once unpacked. PNGs must be real PNG files of up to 4096×4096 pixels. Covers up to 5 MB |
5. Standards for action
Staff take one of three kinds of action, according to the gravity of the breach, choosing a reason and keeping a record each time.
- Hiding: posts, comments, packs or looks that break the rules, or that there is reasonable cause to believe do, are hidden from other members. This is for minor breaches and for reports that need checking. What is hidden for a rule breach stays hidden, with no time limit, until staff restore it, and the images of a hidden post are not served. An author opening their own hidden post sees "This post was hidden after a report. Other members can't see it." at the top with how to object, and their own hidden comments show to them marked "Hidden".
- Deleting: clear breaches, what the law requires removed and what hiding does not settle are deleted. Deleting a post or comment on a report deletes its attached images too. Posts and comments staff delete are kept 30 days, then erased.
- Sanctions: repeated or grave breaches lead to a sanction on the account under Article 22 of the terms. (a) A write ban: for a set period you cannot post or edit posts, comments, looks or packs or change your profile, while reading, the App and the Support board work as before. (b) A suspension for a period: you cannot sign in for a set period. (c) A permanent suspension: you cannot sign in again. Grave breaches such as child sexual abuse material, malware or circumventing payment may lead straight to a permanent suspension.
- When staff hide or delete someone's post or comment without a report, they choose a reason too, and the author receives a "staff action" notification.
6. How to report
- Use the "Report" button on posts, comments, packs and member profiles. Looks cannot be reported. Reporting needs sign-in; without an account, write to support@devalley.app.
- Choose one of six reasons: spam, harassment, copyright, rights infringement (defamation, privacy, personal data), illegal or sexual content, other.
- Staff handle a report within 3 days of receiving it. Reports for rights infringement, illegal or sexual content and copyright are hidden first, as soon as staff see them, and decided within 3 days.
- Report records (target, reason, details, reporting member) are kept 3 years after they are handled (Privacy Policy, Article 3).
- False reports and repeating the same report to abuse the feature are prohibited conduct (Article 21(12) of the terms).
7. Copyright requests
- If your work was uploaded without permission, choose the reason "Copyright" on that content's report button or write to support@devalley.app. Include proof that you hold the right (or act for the holder) and where the infringement is (the address of the post or pack).
- On a request, staff at once stop the content's publication and downloads and tell both the member who uploaded it and the requester. A stopped pack cannot be downloaded from the server while it is stopped, by members who hold it either (the App does not delete files already on a computer). The coins paid are not given back.
- The member who uploaded it may ask for it to resume with proof of a legitimate right. Staff then tell the requester the resumption date (a day between 7 and 14 days after receiving the resumption request) and put the content back on that day, unless the requester tells staff before then that they have brought a lawsuit. Once it is back, members who hold it can download it again.
- The account of a member whose content has been taken down for copyright infringement three times is terminated (Article 20 of the terms).
- Reports for reasons other than copyright (spam, harassment and the like) are handled by staff under these rules.
8. Pack review criteria
- Staff review a Community Pack's first publication against four criteria.
- ① The material is your own work or used with the rights holder's permission; no assets from other games or works.
- ② It contains no prohibited conduct (Article 21 of the terms) and no illegal information.
- ③ The pack file opens in the required format (the pack-making doc, /docs/packs).
- ④ The name, summary and cover match the content and do not pose as an Official Pack or as the Operator.
- Review aims to finish within 3 business days of receipt. A rejection names the number of the criterion broken and the reason.
- New versions of an approved pack and changes to its name, description or cover go out at once, and staff check them afterwards against the same criteria (aiming at 3 business days). If they fall short, staff withdraw the version or hide the pack.
- Every pack version upload asks you to confirm the warranty that you made the material or have permission (Article 17(5) of the terms), and when you confirmed it and the wording are recorded with that version.
9. Notices of action and objections
- When content is hidden or deleted, or an account sanctioned, after a report or by staff's own judgment, the author is told by site notification what was done, the reason, staff's note (up to 500 characters) and how to object.
- If you disagree, write to support@devalley.app within 15 days of the notice. Staff decide whether to restore after reading it and tell you. Objections to sanctions and the time to answer them follow Article 22(4) of the terms.
